I’ve been training women for 18 years and every

now and then, a client will tell me a story, about

when her and her other half were doing some

play wrestling at the weekend and how she threw

him to the floor, instead of the other way around


Believe me, it’s a common story


and I’m not sure if play wrestling is code for

something else and they are all being polite

or if play wrestling is something couples do a

lot and I’m missing out…


Either way, I decided to call it women on top


Just one at a time, not lot’s of women all on

top of some poor guy (at least I think)


What my clients are really saying is that they

are now stronger than their boyfriend /



That doesn’t mean they have bigger muscles

or that they weigh more, it just means they

are stronger


Even better, another client was telling me that

she and her boyfriend were having a competition

to see if they could lift each other (again, I have

no idea if that is code)


she weighs 10 stone and he weighs 11 and a half

and while she could lift him up no problem, he

couldn’t lift her, not even off the ground


Emasculating your other half is now a new

benefit of exercise and I bet you’ll go home to

try it out


Another client has a party trick where she picks

men up and spins around with them across her

shoulders but she is slightly mad


Ok, what are the other benefits of being stronger

if you are single, are not into men or want to

know more about being strong?


You don’t have to ask men so much for help,

carry your own bags, replace the bottle on the

cooler at work, unscrew stiff bottle and jar tops,

move your furniture around and lift heavy pots

in the garden to name a few


and how do you get strong?


Lift weights, use kettlebells, learn good technique

and keep going heavier or longer or use variations

depending on your goals


That’s what we’re doing in the Studio right now,

focusing on strength and nothing else all through
